Operatives of the Department of State Services have arrested a herdsman identified as Saidu Buba, for allegedly killing a butcher known as Mr. Bright Iruanya.
Iruanya was said to have been shot by Buba at close range on May 30, 2016 in Abam, Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State.
It was gathered that the family of the deceased had reported the incident to security agencies before the suspect was apprehended.
Though no reason has been given for Buba’s action, operatives of the DSS were able to arrest and arraign him before the Magistrate Court in Port Harcourt on Friday.

The suspect was arraigned on two counts that bordered on murder and conspiracy to commit felony.
In the Charge Suit Number PMC/1292C/16, Buba was said to have conspired with others currently at large to commit felony in the alleged murder of Iruanya.
The charge against the suspect read, “That you, Saidu Buba, adult with others at large on or about the 30th of May, 2016, at Abam, Okrika LGA, within the jurisdiction of this court, did conspire to commit felony to wit: murder of Bright Iruanya and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 526 of the Command Code Law, of Rivers State of Nigeria, 1999.
