Liaise with State Govt. for development -PRP tells NDDC

One of the frontline political parties in the state, People Redemption Party, PRP has advised the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to work in collaboration with Akwa Ibom State Government in order to achieve progress and as
well to attract more meaningful developmental projects to the state.

The state Chairman of the party, Rev. Aniebiet Emmanuel who also doubles as the CNPP spokesman gave the advice last week while
addressing some Journalists in the Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State Capital.
According to him, state government owns the master plan of the state. They know where to be developed immediately and where to developed in the next five to 10 years. He stressed that there was need for the NDDC to liase with the government of the state if they meant well for the
people.

"Let's forget about politics and see what we can bring to our people. Before they initiate any project in the state, they should liase and as well
seek imput from the government in the state as to ensure a successful execution of such project.

Whatever we are doing, we should do it for the interest of the people we are governing or representing, not placing our personal interest as
priority.

The situation were people are placing their personal interest above the common interest of the people is becoming a problem to us.

The management of NDDC should stop playing politics with development. Its good for them to
liase with the state government and see how they can develop the State so that we can have a better
Akwa Ibom for our children."

In the related development, the PRP Boss asserted that there was need for the state government to consider the welfare of State party Chairmen being the major political stakeholders in the state, by
integrate them into the activities of government.

"The government should also understand that the SA on Inter party Matters is just a one-man and
the forum of political parties which is CNPP and IPAC is a larger forum with different political parties.

So, if out of 40 political parties, and only one political party is singled out and given an appointment by the government, there is still going
to be problem because other political parties are left with nothing. The Special Adviser on Political
and Legislative Affairs and the Special Assistant on Inter-party Matters to the Governor are really
working; if not that they are working, there would have been so many issues and crises within political parties that would have lead to so much attacks on the government. The government should also assist them by carrying all political parties
along by way of creating monthly allowances for them because we are the real political stakeholders
in the state." He said.

He used the opportunity to thank the state Governor, Deacon Udom Emmanuel for appointing one of the political party's state Chairmen, Mr.
Lawrence Udoh as his Aide which according to him have never happened in the history of Akwa Ibom state.

He equally appreciated the state Chairman of PDP Obong Paul Ekpo, saying that he played a vital role in the appointment.
