Manchester United win poor penalty shootout over Real Madrid

Manchester United made it four wins out of four by beating Real Madrid on penalties in a dress rehearsal for next month's UEFA Super Cup.

Jose Mourinho made nine changes to his team as he gave minutes to a number of youngsters at Levi's Stadium, Santa Clara.

Before the game United manager said Timothy Fosu Mensah , Axel Tuanzebe, Matteo Darmian, and Demi Mitchell would get game-time as he rested some of the players who played 75 minutes
against City.

Sergio Romero got his first start of the tour. Ashley Young, Marcos Rojo and Luke Shaw are long term absentees and Juan Mata is still be sidelined after
getting injured in the second game.

Jesse Lingard scored United's only goal in regulation time, while Casemiro equalised from the penalty spot after a poor challenge by Victor Lindelof.

It ended 1-1 at full-time which led to an extraordinary penalty shootout.

After a number of misses, United finally won the shootout thanks to a Daley Blind penalty and a Casemiro miss.
