SUPREME COURT JUDGEMENT: ALI MODU SHERIFF FACTION OF PDP IN A’IBOM HOPEFUL FOR VICTORY

Factional Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Part, PDP in Akwa Ibom State has expressed the hope in the
confirmation of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff by the Supreme Court on Wednesday.

The state Chairman, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff faction of PDP, Elder Idorenyin Jacot who spoke to select journalists in Uyo after an enlarged meeting of the group said Sheriff’s victory at the Supreme Court is sure, because he is the rightful Chairman of the party, recognized by the party’s constitution.

Elder Jocot commended Sheriff for his doggedness in fighting impunity of some cabal within the party, that led to the failure of PDP at the last general election.

According to PDP state Chairman, “We have mobilized our supporters for onward movement to Abuja to back our worthy leader, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff on the
judgement day come this Wednesday”.
The party leadership expressed happiness over the victory of the Senator elect, Ademola Adeleke of Osun west senatorial district, ascribing the feat to Senator Sheriff doggedness and his ability to return the party to the people, and redeemed it from few cabal.

He expressed confidence on the Nigerian judiciary to give a favourable judgement on the matter.

The party leadership commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for approving the conduct of local government election in the stat and urged all members of the party to
go back to their units and wards and begin intensive mobilization, because they will soon announce date for the
sale of forms and nomination for the councillorship and chairmanship positions.

He said PDP will always win any election in Akwa Ibom State because people of the state play and support the party as their religion.

Already, members of Akwa Ibom State exco of PDP (Sheriff faction) have already relocated to Abuja to celebrate and show goodwill to their national chairman, Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff when the Supreme Court confirms his victory on Wednesday.
