Vice Principal Shot Dead By Unknown Gun Men in Ukanafun

Gunmen have shot dead the Vice Principal of Community Secondary School, Nkek in Ukanafun Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

He was shot this morning in the school premises, by armed men said to be led by a leader of unwanted criminal (name withheld by me).

The gunmen entered the school in a commando like style and opened fire on the principal, who died on the spot.

Students are running helter skelter as they weep uncontrollably, over the gruesome murder of their principal.

The slain head of the school is said to have received a letter few days ago, from the gunmen, demanding N1m or he will be killed.

The gang is said to be the same that shot dead Paragi, a youth, last month in the area.

Since 2015, Ukanafun Local Government Area, once known for peace, suddenly became a flashpoint, because of conflicts and leadership tussle, resulting in killings of citizens.

Among the victims were former Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, late Obong Okon Uwah, immediate past Secretary of Ukanafun Local Government Transition Committee, Mr. Ime Atakpa and a lawyer, Barr. Udeme Etukudo.
