Buhari has not over stayed in London, says Ita Enang

Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters-Senate , Senator Ita Enang, has emphatically declared that President Muhammadu Buhari has not breached the constitution or over stayed in London where he is receiving treatment, saying that the President met all the constitution requirements before he depart for medical follow-up in London.

"Contrary to opinion being expressed in some quarters, President Buhari has not over stayed in London. The constitution says expressly he should transmit power in the event of his absence. That's what he did by formally handing over to his vice, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo," said Enang, ‎while playing host to Akwa Ibom-born law students studying at the Nigerian Law School, Bwari, Abuja.

At the event, Senator Enang extended his family's goodwill and that of the Presidency liaison mission to the National Assembly to the students and wished them resounding success in their forthcoming Law examination.

"As a lawyer of long standing and a father of two lawyers, I hold a duty to mentor and encourage young professionals both in my field and other profession of interest. I have done it for the past 18 years and I look forward to continuing it. ‎As you graduate, you have to be politically active and you have to be interested in what happens in the society.

"This Light invitation is intended to you to make sure you have an embrace and sense of interest in the profession with which you have chosen. It is a Fatherhood, mentor ship and a welcome moment."

The leader of the group , Ubong Umoh who spoke on behalf of the students said he was delighted to  identify with a record-breaking man in the field of legislation"

Other law students who spoke at the event, Gideon Bassey and  Moses Elijah, expressed satisfaction on the reception, saying,"Senator Ita Enang is one persons that has the welfare of the public at heart."

He used the occasion to highlight some of the intermediary roles his office plays between Executive and the legislature while also lauding

"the Senate's position patriotic on whether Mr. President should return home or resign.

"I commend the Senate on their stand they've taken. It's the position of law and the constitution.
