2019 Election: Oro Nation Rejects APC, Warns Against Politics Of Deceit

The All Progressive Congress APC in Oro nation, Akwa Ibom State, has come under severe huddle, as the people from the five (5) local government areas that made up the Oro nation accused the party APC of putting the nation, Nigeria into untold hardship, and have vowed to reject any attempt to be cowed into a party, which according to them, is characterized with deceit.

The people have during solidarity rally in support of Governor Udom Emmanuel's second term bid toady, Wednesday, at the Oron township stadium took their stance, as thousands defected from the All Progressive Congress APC to the Peoples Democratic Party PDP. The ecstatic crowd were jubilating over the new development, which of course, signalled their acceptance of Governor Udom Emmanuel, and their full support for Governor Udom Emmanuel's second term aspiration.

Speakers after speakers from the five local government areas, who warned the people of the area against politics of deceit, poured encomiums on Governor Udom Emmanuel in recognition of Governor Udom Emmanuel's development strides, particularly in the Oro nation, which according to them, was marginalized by previous administrations. They said that Deacon Udom Emmanuel is the only credible and competent leader, who can successfully govern the state in a critical time, such as this.. While recounting numerous developmental projects initiated, executed and completed by Udom's administration in Oro nation, they have however, promised to entrust him (Udom) with the mandate again come 2019 election.

Receiving the decampees into the Peoples Democratic Party PDP fold, the state Chairman of the party, Obong Paul Ekpo, commended them for taking wise decision. He said that, Akwa Ibom state is PDP, and will remain PDP. According to Obong Ekpo, with the current economic crisis, and depleted monthly allocation, Akwa Ibom requires prudent management of resources, stressing that, there is no such competent hand other than Deacon Udom Emmanuel. While calling on the people to go back to their different wards and canvas support for Governor Udom Emmanuel, Obong Paul Ekpo said that, the industrialization of Akwa Ibom State lies in the hands of Governor Udom Emmanuel.

Highpoint of the event was the burning of brooms, as the All Progress Congress APC was literary buried in a coffin in the Oro nation.
