The Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr. Onofiok Luke, has advocated for equal educational opportunities for all Nigerians, devoid of ethnic or religious considerations.

Speaking on Thursday while addressing members of the Nigerian Youth Service Corps, NYSC, serving in the State House of Assembly, Barr. Luke who expressed
concerns at the current happenings in the educational system said "As Nigerians we must begin to shun decisive tendencies, look for ways of uniting, and leave behind
ethnic sentiments.

How do we create an educational institution that is balanced?. A man that is in Sokoto should have access to admission in unity schools, the same with the Anambra person.

There should be equal educational opportunities for all. Restructure the educational sector, fund it and grant equal access".

Welcoming the corps members to the assembly, Speaker Luke urged them not to derail from the core mandate of
NYSC, while discharging their national assignment which is service to their fatherland.

Speaking on behalf of the corps members, Barr. Onwe Chibuike, thanked the Speaker for granting them the
audience, and used the opportunity to intimate him on some of the challenges they were facing in the course of discharging their national assignment.
