IKONO COMMUNITY PASSES VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON GOV EMMANUEL

Political Stakeholders of Ediene/Itak extraction in Ikono Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Wednesday, met at the instance of the State Legal
Adviser of PDP, Obong (Barr) Goddy Umoh to align themselves with the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel and consequently declared their unflinching support for the Governor to succeed himself in 2019.

Among other issues raised at the meeting was the zoning of the Local Government Chairmanship and
House of Assembly representative to the area. In a motion moved and seconded by Barr O. B. Akpan and Hon Emmanuel Effeh respectively, the stakeholders under the aegis of Ediene/Itak PDP Elders Forum posited that they were satisfied with the achievements so far recorded by Governor Udom Emmanuel in just two years despite the economic crisis confronting the nation and subsequently passed an overwhelming vote of confidence on him.

Speaking further, the Elders maintained that it was the turn of the area to produce the Council Chairman as well as the House of Assembly member according to the existing zoning formula in the local government area. Those present at the meeting included the Transition Committee Chairman of Ikono Local Government Council, Mr Itoro Columba, the PDP Chapter Chairman, Obong Moses Akpan, Ward Chairmen and women leaders in the area.
