“If opposition party wins in Ikpa Nnung Clan, I will resign from politics"- Uduak Odudoh

The member representing Ikot Abasi/Eastern Obolo State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uduak Odudoh has thrown a
challenge to the main opposition party in the Akwa Ibom State, All Progressive Congress (APC), saying that if the
party win any unit in his clan, Ikpa Nnung Assang, he will resign from active politics.

The lawmaker stated this on Sunday during the monthly prayer conference organized by Akwa Ibom Youth Caucus
at S S. Peter & Paul Catholic church, Essene, in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area.

Uduak Odudoh boosted that the APC does not have followers as well as the capacity to win any unit in the two wards that make up the clan in the forthcoming election.

The House member stressed that elections are not won on propaganda or blackmail, but that elections are won best on the antecedence and records, noting that
the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is the only party that has proven beyond the expectations of the people of the area and that PDP will continue to win in the
forthcoming elections.

While noting that the people of the clan will deliver Governor Udom Emmanuel in his second term bid come 2019, the lawmaker said there is no amount of failed promises that will entice the people of the clan to vote for any opposition party, than the ruling PDP in Akwa Ibom State.

He said the people of Ikot Abasi Local Government Area will play Governor Udom Emmanuel and the PDP with
passion in the next general elections, having benefited a lot from the present administration. According to him,
“We are supporting Governor Udom Emmanuel with passion because my constituents have benefited a lot from
this government.

This government has done so many live
touching projects which I will not stand here to mention them because we are not talking politics here.

But I can assure the Governor that as we did it in the last elections; we will do it again to return our performing Governor
come 2019 no matter the level of opposition in Ikot Abasi. I am saying this with authority, out of the 19 units in Ikpa Nnung Assang Clan, If APC wins any unit, I will resign from active politics.” Uduak Odudoh boosted.

He however used the opportunity to commend the youth caucus for organizing a prayer conference for the leaders and the Governor of the State.

“I have been in politics since 1999; this is my first time of seeing youths in the
State praying for leaders in the State.”

The Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Matters, Mr. Aniefiok Iwaudofia said the event marked the 24th edition of the prayer conference with the theme
‘sought after’.

He said the conference was to support the
Governor through prayers.

“The only thing we can do as youths is to continue to pray for leaders.” He thanked
the Governor for carry youths along in the scheme of things, saying youths of Akwa Ibom State will never disappoint even as he reassured that youths will deliver him come 2019.

The representative of the Governor and Special Assistant on Religious Matters, Rev. Daniel Ikpata, thanked the
youths for their show of love through prayers and promised to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people of the State.

The Managing Director of Hensek,
Engr. Uwem Okoko and the Transition Chairman of Ikot Abasi LGA, Hon. Ubong Ukang in their separates
speeches commended the youths for the initiative.

High point of the event was the prayer for the State Governor Udom Emmanuel and the leaders.
