AKSG MOVES TO COMPLETE ALL ONGOING PROJECTS, FUND PAUCITY NOTWITHSTANDING

Despite the erratic deductions of the federal government's monthly allocations to the Akwa Ibom state government in the last two months, which have caused a drop in the state's allocation to the tune of N6. 8bn, the Governor Udom Emmanuel-led government has intensified commitment to making sure that, all the ongoing road projects in the state are completed before next year election.

Demonstrating this commitment today, Wednesday, while supervising demolition of structures that were on the right of way along a portion of Etinan - Eket dualized carriageway, that is, within Okon Eket, down to the Atabong River to be precise, whose compensation were fully paid for, to make way for the competition of the project, the Honourable Commissioner for Works, Akparawa Ephraim Inyangeyen, has said that, there was no way Akwa Ibom could pursue industrialization without the necessary infrastructure that will drive the industrialization.

Nonetheless, the Akwa Ibom State government could not allowed fund paucity to hamper its drive for development hence, the need for all the road infrastructure, networking the entire state to be completed before election.

Commissioner Inyangeyen, who was accompanied by his Permanent Secretary and some Civil Engineers from his Ministry, inspected several internal roads projects within the Eket metropolis, embarked upon by Governor Udom Emmanuel's administration, under the Direct Intervention Programme of the state government.

Although, the Ministry of Works, under the watch of Commissioner Ephraim Inyangeyen, has determined to making sure that, it supervises all ongoing road projects in the state up to their terminal end, however, quite a number of internal road projects in Eket local government area were inspected today, but those road projects inspected were not limited to projects, such as, Idua Road, Edem Udo Street, Edem Udo Lane, Clinic Road Extension, Etebi / Ikot Udota Road, Ikot Odiong - Ikot Abasi Road, all in Eket local government area.
