Hon. Oku pays glowing tribute to His Excellency, Mr. Udom Emmanuel

In line with the assertion that "gratitude is the best attitude", the Udung-Uko Council boss & Chief Security Officer of the area, Hon. (Elder) Okon Esin Oku, yesterday poured encomiums on the person and office of our dear Governor, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel. He made the commendation at his Eyobiosio country home, Edikor, amidst a cheerful crowd of family, party faithfuls and associates.

Recall that Hon. Oku was among the 31 other beneficiaries of the Governor's Car gift, being the year 2018 Model of Toyota Land-Cruiser Prado Jeep. Addressing a crowd of supporters, Hon. Oku dedicated the gift to God while, also congratulating the Governor for the kindness shown to the A'Ibom Chapter of ALGON, himself inclusive. He used the occasion to restate the earlier resolve and determination of Udung-Uko people to reelect Mr. Udom Emmanuel of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for a record second term.

Hon. Oku who described the era of Mr. Udom Emmanuel, as 'golden' in his political career also recount his dark days. In this wise, in 2003, he won the PDP Nomination but lost his bid to represent the good people of Udung-Uko in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly (AKHA) when the proposed Udung-Uko State Constituency could not see the light of day. Similarly, in 2007, he won the PDP Chairmanship Nomination, but again, lost the bid owing to the unfavorable political climate of the time.

Also speaking, the President of Eyobiosio Youths Association (EYA), Comrade Ime Effiong, ceased the opportunity too, to commend His Excellency, the Governor for the honour done to Hon. Oku (his kinsman) and for the uncommon peace now witnessed in both Udung-Uko and A'Ibom State.
