Meet Senator Garaba Marafa, who is the richer Man in Africa
PARIS, JULY 17, 2017: (DGW) Senator Garba Marafa, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Petroleum (Downstream), concerned riches has said he is miles richer than the 'former' Africa's richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote.
He made the remark while speaking with Daily Trust in an interview.
The 'new' self-styled African richest man, said as far as he is concerned riches is in the mind rather than the physical cash one has.
He said: "I am extremely rich because to me richness is in the mind, it is not how much you have".
Speaking further, the Senator representing Zamfara Central under the platform of the ruling All Progressives
Congress said despite the fact he has been a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for six calendar years, he still lives in a rented apartment When he was asked why he could not buy a house in
Abuja, the nation's capital, he simply said he has no money to buy one as he is not only conscious but also lives up to his responsibilities.
This translates to spending 60% of his earning on his Senatorial District while he spends 40% on himself and he remains resolute or committed to keeping that
promise.
He said: ''I’m extremely rich because to me richness is in the mind. It is not how much money you have. As far as I’m concerned, I’m richer than Aliko Dangote because the little I have is enough for me.
I have never put myself in a very tight situation. This is my sixth year as
a senator and I’m still living in a rented house. I don’t have a house in Abuja but I believe when the time comes I’ll have it.''
