IT’S TIME TO COME HOME AND SERVE MY PEOPLE - Engr. Ben Edenseting
Engineer Etim (Ben) Edenseting has cleared the air on his choice to run for the chairmanship position of Udung Uko LGA. He made the revelation during a consultative interaction with the Forum of Udung Uko PDP Ward Chairmen.
According to him, the zeal to see Udung Uko change from its present status and be transformed developmentally and otherwise into a township has been his dream from infancy. Hear him: “It has always been a sleep deprivation issue whenever I cogitate on the developmental and human infrastructural status of my Local Government Area (Udung Uko).
Professionally, I have worked with the oil sector for a decade. In my sojourn, I have gained a lot of experience, contact, exposure and expertise idea to change the face of Udung Uko local Government Area and I believe it is time for me to resign and serve my people whom I am sure, are earnestly yearning for a better place to call their Local Government”.
Engr. Edenseting who was earlier in the day, live on AKBC TV to discuss several topical issues touching Udung Uko Local Government Area, Oro Nation and Akwa Ibom State, reiterating his progressive plans on education, monetary pay point, exploration of natural resources, internal finance generation through meaningful project, agriculture, medical dispensary, healthcare facilities, training of youths in oil and gas sector, skill acquisition, to mention but a few. He handed a copy of a booklet containing his development agenda and blueprint to the Chairman of the forum.
Responding on behalf of all the ward heads, the chairman of ward 8 who doubles as the forum’s chairman (COC), Mr. Eyo Tom Akanam acknowledged the undisputable fact that Engr. Ben Edenseting is a rare breed who needs the support of everyone for the actualization of his vision. He however, advised the chairmanship hopeful to stick to his promises by giving Udung Uko LGA a facelift when he emerges. As a sign of acceptance of the Chemical Engineer’s aspiration, the entire ward chairmen surrounded the chairmanship hopeful and prayed for God’s direction, blessings, favor and success to an ambition they believe will change Udung Uko Local Government Area for better.
In a parting speech, the Principal thanked the forum for making out time for him from their tight schedule and assured that he will always come to them for useful advice when he is in need of such.
The meeting which was programmed to be very brief had the likes of Mr. Eyo Tom Akanam (the Chairman of Chairmen), his PRO and chairman of PDP Ward 5 Deacon Mfon Okon Bassey, Hon Sunday Odokwo , Hon Edet Ekpo, Comrade Bassey-Babros Eduno , Hon Idiok Effiong, Elder Esteem Ebiekpe (chairman Ward 7), all the ten ward chairmen etc. in attendance.
