A’IBOM PDP INSISTS ON ZONING AS LG ELECTION APPROACHES

In keeping with the Peoples Democratic Party’s favourable disposition to justice and equity, the State Chairman of the party, Obong Paul Ekpo has renewed the call on party loyalists to ensure that those seeking elective positions as Chairmen and Councillors on the party platform in the forthcoming Local Government elections align with the zoning pattern in their domains.

Obong Ekpo who was accompanied by other Members of the State Executive Committee of the Party and other Government Officials made this known Thursday at the inauguration of the Mobilization, Sensitization and Advisory Committees of the party in the three federal constituencies of Uyo Senatorial District.

He lauded members for keeping faith with the party especially during the trying times of the Leadership tussle that rocked the party at the National, maintaining that their steadfastness is a clear exhibition of their unalloyed love for PDP, which has helped strengthen and enhance the spirit of togetherness amongst all members of the party.

The State party helmsman expressed satisfaction with Governor Udom Emmanuel’s leadership of the State, saying policies and programmes of his administration in areas of industrialization, citizens empowerment and wealth creation at a time other state were groaning under the downward economic trends, have been legendary.
He enjoined the newly inaugurated committee Members to mobilize all qualified party Faithful for full participation in the on-going Voter's registration Exercise and ensure that the PDP guidelines for the electioneering are observed to the later; as the party was not willing to compromise standards in her choice of flag bearers.

Speaking on behalf of the Coordinators in Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency, Senator Bassey Albert commended the party for the confidence reposed on them and for giving them the platform to serve, assuring that they will work assiduously to ensure victory for the party in the upcoming local government
elections.

At Etinan Federal Constituency, the Speaker Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Barr. Onofiok Luke, commended the party leadership for deeming them fit to be appointed into the committee with the mandate to reach out to all party members across the Constituency, promising to do the their best in delivering the constituency for the party.

Speaking on behalf of Co-ordinators in Uyo Federal Constituency, Prince Uwem Ita Etuk thanked the party leadership for the initiative of involving all stakeholders in the political process and commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for giving a new lease of life to the party in the state and promised to work for the success of the party.

Stakeholders including Senator Effiong Bob, Rt. Hon. Sam Ikon, Dr Henry Archibong, Dr. Iniobong Essien, Mr. Akan Okon, Prince Ekpe Atakpo, Engr. Billy Etuk among others asserted that, with this unique step taken by the party, PDP will coast to victory and pledged their unalloyed support in repositioning the party for a massive Victory in subsequent elections.

Members of the newly inaugurated Committees include all Appointed Coordinators, Secretaries, Chapter Executives, Ward Chairmen, Youth Council and Caucus Chairmen among other stakeholders.
