RT. ROTIMI AMAECHI MARITIME ACADEMY APPOINTMENT, ANOTHER DAY LIGHT ROBBERY IN ORO-Joseph Etifit

This year marked my ten years in rivers state and am also a graduate in one of the university there,rivers state university of science and technology. In rivers state, we have up to five higher institutions, namely : rivers state university, university of education, ken saro wiwa polytechnic, port Harcourt polytechnic, and university of portharcourt, since the establishment of the above institutions you hardly heard any non indigene from another state occupying the position of Vice Chancellor's or a rector's,howbeit it was on the ground of who became the vice chancellor of rivers state university of science and technology in 2o12 that Rt. Rotimi Amaechi then the executive governor of rivers state plunged the university into fracas and imposed professor barimene fakea for the second term on the institution against the will of Asuu and course's the university to go on strike for over a year.

In the case of maritime academy oron, that happened to be under the ministry of transportation that Rt. Rotimi Amaechi is the minister. Oro are asking for a federal maritime university,if the federal government is yet to enthused that,why would Amaechi appoint a six man committee headed by chief Adebayo babatunde sarumi's and an acting Rector Cdr. Duja Effedua,all non indigene to oversee the running of the academy,without considering Dr.Mkpandiox Ante and others indigenes for the position of a rector. We all know RT.Chibuike Amaechi as the arrowhead of this administration,owning to his contribution in the last general election, perhaps the leader of APC in the south,south region and the current minister of transportation, which maritime academy oron felled under,thus,he's privy to every appointment in the region and also in the maritime arena.

Since the establishment of MAN oro,the academy has been run by a non indigene, is the federal government and it's cohort telling us that we lacked the human materials to managed the institution? Amaechi should rationally judge his conscience and give oro a sense of belonging and nullify those appointees and appoint Mkpandiox Ante the current registra as the substantive rector if truly he's progressive and is fighting for the right of the people of the Niger delta. Amaechi appointment of a non indigene to run the affairs of Maritime academy oro purview vilification and dishonesty against the academic base of oro people, hence the youths are against the perceived lacked of "due respect" against her people and we vehemently detest the current turned of event in MAN oron, saying enough is enough. This appointment is politically motivated , and the position of maritime academy rector will not be use for political settlement,because what is good for the goose is good for the gander,and Amaechi should do what is obtainable in other place's and appoint our son's or daughter's to mount the position of the rector,if truly his not morally or politically flawed has held in some quarters.

Every appointment in the APC led administration is lopsided against oro,and in our own eyes what clearly belongs to us is about to be taken away from us by Amaechi and his accomplice. Corruption can be meted to citizenry on difference dimensions and oro people portrayed this as corruption, irresponsible,vicious and orchestrated manner by the APC government to knock oro completely out of federal appointment.APC campaign against corruption is the opposite by not yielding to the plight and yearnings of the people of oro and is clearly immoral,evil,violent and aggressive against the desired of oro. If APC is progressive and fighting corruption it claimed, they should come to our aide and do a thorough investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the appointment.

This latest appointment has cast aspersion on the integrity, honesty and the dignity of Amaechi and the only way for him to expunge himself from this messed is to invalidate the appointment and apologize unequivocally to the entire people of oro.

Rt.Rotimi Amaechi should have it at the back of his mind that great ability without solid character can cause immense tragedy and grief.

And is only his character, rather than his abilities,determines the lasting value of his accomplishments.
