UDUNG-UKO ASSET RECOVERY COMMITTEE INAUGURATED

The Executive Chairman of Udung-Uko Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Okon Esin Oku, yesterday (6th February, 2018), inaugurated the local government's Asset Recovery Committee.

Performing the inauguration, the Udung-Uko Council boss tasked the committee to consider this challenging responsibility as a call to service and to discharge same with due diligence.

He called on the good people of Udung-Uko Local Government Area and indeed, the general public not to misconstrue the position of the Council as a witch-hunt, but to consider same as a step in the right direction. A step to recover the collective wealth/properties of Udung-Uko people for the benefit of all.

The Committee which was given a time frame of 2 Calendar Months (6th February - 6th April, 2018), also has the following membership:

1. Vice Chairman, Rt. Hon. Okokon Iyahakwa ----------------Chairman.

2. Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Udung-Uko Division, DSP Jonathan Ogabido-------------------Member.

3. Chief Driver, Elder Sunday Ettah-----------------Member.

4. Store Officer, Elder Nkponukini Otioro-----------------Member.

5. Transport Officer, Mr. Edet Ankwai---------------Member.

6. NULGE Secretary, Koko Imoh (Mrs.)-----------------Member.

7. Departmental Security Officer (DSO), Mr. Effiong Bassey----Secretary.

And, in his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the Committee, Rt. Hon. Okokon Iyahakwa, promised to deliver on their mandate within the time frame. He thereafter, congratulated his boss, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Okon Esin Oku, for his wisdom and foresight in inaugurating the Committee which he said was apt and timely.

Furthermore, he described their job as an herculean tasks and used the occasion to request from the good people of Udung-Uko LGA and other well meaning Nigerians of support in the form of SMS, PHONE CALLS, ORAL AND DOCUMENTARY EVIDENCE with useful information that could help in the execution of their mandate.

Also, the TERMS OF REFERENCE of the Committee shall be as follows:

1. To look for and recover all cars, buses and trucks, both serviceable and non-serviceable, that belongs to Udung-Uko Local Government Council and bring same to the Secretariat.

2. To look and bring to the Council Secretariat, all Council's generators etc, from where they were kept.

3. To look into all the inventories of the departments and make copies available for appropriate documentation.

4. To compile the inventories of the Guest House, Low Cost Housing Estate in Udung-Uko Local Government and their present conditions therein.

5. Finally, to locate and bring to the Council, all Udung-Uko Local Government Council's official plate numbers and any other valuable Council's properties of necessity.
