ORON LGA IS PDP - ORON PDP STAKEHOLDERS TELLS GOV. UDOM EMMANUEL

"A house that is divided against itself cannot stand. When a house is intact as Oron LGA is, peace and progress flow in naturally" Dr. Mrs. Akon Eyakenyi.

In less than a day the stakeholders in Mbo LGA assembled to reaffirm their undying loyalty and support for the PDP and His Excellency Udom G. Emmanuel, yesterday, 12/8/2018, saw the gathering of all the political eagles and falcons from Oron LGA for the same purpose, at Elder Etim Eyakenyi's compound. The PDP family is indeed in order.

The august meeting started well with praises and thanksgiving to God by the general house, led by the Master of the Ceremony himself. Thereafter, the first homily by the Leader of the PDP family in Oron, Dr. Mrs. Akon Eyakenyi, drawn from Proverbs 4:18, and the second one drawn from Psalms 103:1-3, led by Rev. Ido, both unified to amplify the spiritual connotation of the gathering. A prayer was made to declare the event open.

The event earlier scheduled to start at 4p.m, actually started some minutes past 6p.m, owing to the sacredness of the day, hence, the avoidance of individual or group introductions. Put it simply, the general house was acknowledged.
Setting the tone for the event was a statement of purpose issued by the PDP Leader, Dr. Mrs. Akon Eyakenyi.

Having welcomed everyone to the meeting, she started by reminding the people of the trend of defections as witnessed across the country.

She stated that in Akwa Ibom State, PDP remains sacrosanct, hence, no reason for fears whatsoever.

With great delight, she extolled the leadership qualities of His Excellency, Gov. Udom Emmanuel and rated him the best performing governor, nationwide.

To buttress her stance, she threw open the unending encomiums that consistently came directly from the Presidency upon the governor, which are in public domain for general assessment. Looking back at the high table, and having seen the totality of her stakeholders, she amazingly beamed a smile and with confidence, she declared that Oron LGA is intact for Udom Emmanuel. She advised that anyone who leaves does so for his own personal interest, therefore, nobody must be his follower.

Conclusively, the Leader of the Party in Oron LGA stated that, to reap the full benefits of democracy, Oron cannot afford to play the opposition, hence, the people must queue behind the best performing governor Udom Emmanuel, who has the interest of Oro Nation at heart. Dr. Eyakenyi further asserted that since power comes from God alone and not from any man, the victory of governor Udom is assured by God, hence, the "Divine Mandate 2019".

The platform was opened for other speakers who all poured worthy accolades on the governor, accompanied by some personal additions.

The next in line to speak was the Honourable Commissioner for Transport and Petroleum Resources, Akwa Ibom State, Rt. Hon. Orman Esin . He stated that the issue of defection has nothing in common with Oron LGA. It's simple! He based his stance on the fact that those that defected to the APC never consulted Oron LGA before their defections, for that reason and many more, the APC should not expect defections before or after the primaries because they are one family and they shall remain so for Udom. Before he dropped the microphone, he declared that Oron is intact and that there is no APC in Oron LGA.

Also speaking, the state house member representing Oron/Udung Uko State Constituency, Hon. Effiong Bassey whose position was not different from other previous speakers, except the ovation he had amidst laughter from the crowd when he stated that the only man who defected was the former Oron council chairman who was not originally a member of the PDP, but "migrated" into the party. Hence, nothing is wrong with his decision to return to where he came from. He's not missed. Oron is intact, according to him.

The next in line to speak to Oron people was the leader of Oron Legislative Council, Hon. Balo Bassey Bassey who stated in summary that the defection saga was strictly the personal issue of Sen. Godswill Akpabio and his loyalists, since the former governor is interested in his return to the Senate, not that of Oron or Akwa Ibom as a state. Hence, the focus and support of Oron as a Local Government must be on Governor Udom Emmanuel. He conveyed the goodwill of Oron people to Governor Udom through the PDP Leader, Dr. Mrs. Akon Eyakenyi.

Of course, it could never be complete if the women are not heard. The PDP women leader, Obongawan Mfon Okpo took her turn to inform the gathering that as long as she remains the women leader of PDP, Governor Udom is the message among Oron women. She thanked the wife of the Governor for her benevolence towards the widows of Oro Nation, and by extension Akwa Ibom state. No doubt, behind any achieving man, is a virtuous woman.

One shouldn't get curious to start wondering if those were all the speakers. Perhaps, other known stakeholders are missing here, right? Never! Ladies and gentlemen, then came the Council Boss, Rt. Hon. Anthony Bassey, who refueled the confidence of his people by stating that from the onset, Oron has been PDP and PDP, Oron. He urged the people to cast away the Ekiti shadow. In Oron, PDP has done it countlessly and will do it again come 2019 through the people that were there present. He pleaded with his people to eschew all forms of betrayal and show appreciation to the performing governor who has Oron people at heart.

Make no mistake, the commander of the boys, Chief Asukwo Enweme is PDP! He did justice to the event by stating the obvious; Oron is PDP.

Trust the king of the boys, he appealed to the governor not to underrate anyone, but rather step up his game by releasing funds for his campaign.

Of course, "ndito eyedia mkpo"! That was it! His message was a simple one; Governor Udom, please let there be funds for the task is great but your victory shall be landslide come 2019.

Barr. Ekpong Edemumoh couldn't wait for a proper introduction before he grabbed the mic. Having stated satisfactorily the importance of youths in every election, he called for their empowerment, especially youths of Oro extraction. Equally, he made an appeal to the Governor through the Leader of the PDP stakeholders, Dr. Mrs. Akon Eyakenyi, to see to the renovation of the dilapidated staff quarters of St. Vincent Secondary School, Oti-Oro, located directly opposite the school. In conclusion, he, together with all the youths present, adopted governor Udom Emmanuel as his aspirant.

Last but never the least, the supremacy of the party was reechoed when the "owner" of the party in Oron LGA was given his due recognition. The party chairman # Murphy_Esin , majestically stepped out to announce to the people that in his own Oron LGA, PDP is a religion. In his words, "Oron is PDP. In fact, PDP is a religion. It is our church. Other parties exist only for formality". Speaking further, he ordered the ten (10) ward chairmen to remain standing who stood up to the admiration of the cheering public. Finally, he maintained that in Oron, it's nobody but Governor Udom Emmanuel.

To drive the event to it logical end, a communiqué was issued by the stakeholders, presented by Dr. Akon Eyakenyi and read out by Barr.
John Ekpenyong . It was confirmed by the totality of Oron people who were present and thereafter, submitted to God in prayer by Rev.  Vincent Asukwo.

Item 6? Who wouldn't want it? Being the darling of every gathering, it showed up to drive the people home joyously.

PDP: Power to the People!
