STAKEHOLDERS CELEBRATE AKPABIO'S EXIT FROM PDP, SAYS ITS A BLESSING TO THE STATE

As an indication of expressing their happiness over the exit of the former senate minority leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stakeholders across Eket Federal constituency yesterday converged at the residence of the State treasurer of the PDP for a breakfast meeting to celebrate the exit of Akpabio which they described as "double blessing" to the people of Akwa Ibom State.

The stakeholders stated that the breakfast meeting have availed them ample opportunity to reaffirm their support to the Udom Emmanuel PDP led-administration and to join voices to mark the celebration of Akwa Ibom people from bondage.
It could be recalled that the defection of the former Governor of the State from the PDP to the rulling All Progressives Party (APC), on wednesday last week has reawaken the political consciousness of Akwa Ibom people on grounds of its engendered blessing to the people of Eket senatorial district and the state at large.

Rt. Hon. Nduese Essien, a former minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and a two term federal lawmaker who spoke on behalf of the leaders of the senatorial district at the breakfast meeting said the defection of Senator Akpabio to the APC is a great relief to Governor Udom Emmanuel.

Hon. Nduese maintained that Akpabio's exit from the umbrella party marks the handing over of the Government of Akwa Ibom State to Governor Udom Emmanuel.

Hear him, "the exit of Akpabio from the PDP is worth celebrating because Gov. Udom Emmanuel will now exercise his powers without undue influence by assumed supervisor "

He noted that previously, Deacon Udom Emmanuel was just 'Governor' but from wednesday 8th August 2018, the Government has finally been handed over to him.

The senatorial district leader went on and called on the good people of the State to join in supporting the continuity project of Udom Emmanuel stating that a government that has the original interest of Akwa Ibom people has birthed through Akpabio's exit.
