UDOM IN MY COMMUNITY CAMPAIGN HAS TOUCHED MANY LIVES.

In addition to publicizing the landmark achievements of the Governor Udom Emmanuel-led administration through a third person eye, Udom in my Community Photo/Video campaign has touched the lives of hundreds of youths in Akwa Ibom State since its conception.

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Charles Udoh stated this over the weekend while presenting prizes to Winners of the 8th Edition of Udom in my Community Photo/Video contest held in the Conference room of Ministry of Information and Strategy.
He said within the 8 editions of the public sensitization programme over 200 youths who have persistently and continuously uploaded their entries to the Udomcares Citizen Centre in pursuit of the contest now have different mindset and orientation toward the development-drive of government as well as build in them an industrious and enterprising spirit.

"As the youths continously look out for project sites for their entries, canvass for shares and likes on the State Facebook page and hope for the cash prizes accruable to winners, their minds are kept positively alert", Charles Udoh said.

Represented by the Dean of Directors in the Ministry and Director, Technical Services, Mr. Inyang Jameson, the Information Boss reiterated with optimism that the hundreds of youths who have made Udom in my Community their pasttime can never indulge in societal vices, cultism and gangsterism etc as their energies are now redirected into positive enterprise and venture.

He expressed gratitude to Governor Udom Emmanuel for approving the programme geared at marketing the development strides of government to the world as well as empowering youth participants in the programme.
The Cordinator of the programme and acting Director of Strategy in the Ministry, Mrs. Grace Akpan said the Prize Presentation ceremony was unique because it was combined with the presentation of prizes to winners in 6 different editions of Win Your Tuition Fees, another public sensitization programme of the Ministry running on AKBC 90.5FM.
The Director of Strategy intimated that while Udom in My Community Photo/Video contest is opened to youths and all interested members of the public, Win Your Tuition Fees is opened only to students in tertiary institutions towards aasisting them with their tuition fees in the process of getting them interested in government programmes and activities.

She commended the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Charles Udoh for initiating the 2 programmes and others geared towards public enlightenment on government programmes and activities as well as other initiatives aimed at bringing the governed closer to government such as "Update Akwa Ibom Radio programme, Discover Akwa Ibom TV Documentary, "How Udom spends our money, Weekly Update, Udomcares Citizen Centre, CodeUdom Radio/TV campaigns among others.

Responding, one of the Winners of the Win Your Tuition Fees, Nsikan Faustinus of the University of Uyo while appreciating the state Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel for approving the programmes and the Information Boss, Charles Udoh for floating the youth-oriented initiatives urged all youths to ensure that they are ready with their Permanent Voters Card, PVC, to vote the Governor for 2nd term so that the youths can continue to benefit from the programmes.

Nsikak Faustinus, a 3rd year Electrical Electronic undergraduate won the Star Prize of N20,000 in the 15th edition of Win Your Tuition Fees and N2000 recharge card in the 8th edition of Udom in my Community Photo/Video contest. All 7 Star Prize Winners smiled home with N20,000 each while all Top 10 winners of the 8th Edition of Udom in my Community Photo/Video went home each with N2000 worth of recharge card from any mobile network of their choice.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of prizes to Winners in the 2 programmes by Directors in the Ministry including Director in-charge of Eket Zone, Elder Mrs. Blessing Urua, Director of Administration, Elder Mrs
